When his calls and text messages became less frequent and sometimes mine weren’t returned at all, I asked a friend who is a single parent for her input.

A few months later, I found myself at a chic wine bar listening to my date talk about the teenager he was raising on his own.
He confided, “It’s hard to date as a single parent.” Although I understand why many women wouldn’t want to date someone with children, at the time I couldn’t see why this guy would have issues dating.
When you’re a single parent in the US, things just aren’t as simple as they were before children – especially when it comes to dating.
